NET WORTH: Unknown

SOURCE OF WEALTH: Goldman Sachs, The Beacon Group, JPMorgan Chase

FUNDING AREAS: Religious (Catholic), Education & Youth, Health & Human Services

OVERVIEW: Geoffrey Boisi and family move their philanthropy through the Boisi Family Foundation, which gave away around $1.2 million in a recent tax year. The family's philanthropy tracks with prominent board memberships Boisi holds. The family supports the Catholic church and Catholic education. Boisi also supports his alma maters.

BACKGROUND: Geoffrey T. Boisi received a B.A. from Boston College and an MBA from Wharton. He joined Goldman Sachs and served in various roles over his 22-year career at the firm. He went on to serve as co-CEO of JPMorgan and vice chairman of JPMorgan Chase. Boisi currently serves as chairman and CEO of Roundtable Investment Partners, an independent private investment partnership.

ISSUES:

RELIGIOUS: Boisi is a Knight of Malta and devout Catholic who serves as trustee for the Papal Foundation. He also sits on the board of directors of Leadership Roundtable, which "promotes best practices and accountability in the management, finances, communications, and human resources development of the Catholic Church in the U.S., including greater incorporation of the expertise of the laity." The Boisi Family Foundation's grantmaking strongly supports the organization. Other grantees have included FADICA (Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities), where Boisi is also a director.

EDUCATION & YOUTH: The Boisi family supports St. Aloysius School, National Catholic Education Association, and Tomorrow's Hope Foundation, which "gives hundreds of children the opportunity to attend Catholic elementary schools." Another important grantee here is MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership, which Boisi co-founded. The aim of the organization is to connect young people with caring adult mentors. The couple has also directed sums to Boisi's alma maters Boston College and University of Pennsylvania. Wharton is home to the Geoffrey T. Boisi Professor of Accounting. Boston College is home to the Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life. Boisi's wife Rene also attended Boston College. In fact, the couple counts nearly 20 Boston College graduates among their family. Other grantees have included Columbia Business School, and Inner City Scholarship Fund in Boston.

HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES: Grantees have included Nourish Now, Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation, Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, and LIFT, a national poverty-fighting organization.

LOOKING FORWARD: Expect this family's philanthropy to continue to track with its established interest areas.
